Most Austinites call this rooftop "Zaza" for short since . We could complain about the mixing of names of "Zaza, Group Therapy, and Cabana" (we personally feel a name like Zaza deserves an equally unique name for the rooftop, but I'll digress.
Cabana rooftop bar has basically two modes - BS and AS (before sunset and after sunset).
Before sunset - if we're honest, Cabana Rooftop Bar is not all that exciting. In the Texas summer - it just gets hot and has the same menu as the upscale, and air-conditioned Group Therapy restaurant just inside.
After sunset - though - is where Zaza's rooftop comes to life. The sunset happens right across from the main seating area so you have a great view. The blinds come up and the heat goes down. The light lingers for a while so you're in the sunset and dusk for a good amount of time so you can have perfect golden hour lighting for your cocktails and company.
If you host friends here - get here an hour before sunset for the best seating and then have a drink or two to watch the sun go down. You'll have a great night.
Drink are starting at $17 and are good - but did not blow our minds.
